We Remember...Michael Denk


Michael Denk, departed on eternal patrol on February 8, 2005. We received the news from his daughter Katrina. His published obituary follows. ******* Michael Damien Denk, 59, longtime resident of Springfield and Navy veteran who served on the USS John Marshall, died February 8 at Crozer-Chester Medical Center.
Born in Johnstown, PA, Mr. Denk lived there until entering the Navy in 1963. He was a graduate of Temple University, and the founder and president of Insurance Conceps Inc. Mr. Denk worked as an insurance agent and broker for the past 35 years. He served in the Navy as part of the elite crew on the nuclear submarine USS John Marshall. He enjoyed dancing, music, bicycling and classic cars.
Mr. Denk was a member of Princeton Presbyterian in Springfield, as well as the Rhythmic Society and the Pennsylvania Independent Insurance Agents Association.
Survivors: Wife, Diane Farris Denk; mother, Eleanor Freidhoff Denk of Johnstown; brothers, Edward Denk of Cleveland, Raymond Denk of Mesa, Ariz.; sisters, Kathleen McCombie of Johnstown, Gretchen Yaeger of Seymour, Conn., Monica Heinly of Cape May, N.J.; sons, Kurt Denk of San Francisco, Gregory Johnson of Norwalk, Conn.; daughters, Katrina Denk and Abigail Denk, both of Springfield.
